Hello everyone welcome back to another Farm Fact Friday. Today I want to talk a little bit about supporting kids in ag and I know this was a topic that we went through last year but honestly I think it’s something that we’re going to revisit year after year as we approach the fair. So there are individuals out there who are in 4-h and FFA who either have projects that they’ve already completed in judging’s or there’s also a group of individuals who are taking care of their livestock in preparation to bring them to the fair for their showings and then also for the sale and one of the ways that we contribute to the community is giving back to the youth and we do that through the livestock sale. So recently the Findlay Hancock Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee identified that there may be organizations businesses individuals out there who are interested in also supporting the youth but they’re either not sure how the livestock sale works or they don’t want to sit out you know for an entire day with their own you know amount of money to try to to get an animal or they just have plans over labor day and can’t be there. So what was previously designed was a buyer’s group which allows anybody to put in money from a 100$ to however much you want and someone will bid and buy animals on your behalf and you can still get the recognition for that. So we’ve had a very good response to this in the years that we’ve done it. So again I’m coming to those out there who are interested that this biting group is open to anyone in that would like to support Hancock County youth that are showing animals and selling them at the fair. So if you have interest but you still have questions certainly happy to answer those but the process is pretty simple it’s all through the Chamber of Commerce’s website so I can provide a link to the video after this and hopefully from now until the weeks leading up to the fair we can get some of those youth on our Farm Fact Friday to just show you what they’re doing in preparation for the fair, kind of highlight what animal they have, maybe they’ve given it a name, what the requirements are for these youth who are learning all kinds of things responsibility, financials, really what it takes to raise an animal from when the time they get it all the way up through the fair and getting through the fair itself. So we hope you have an interest in supporting the youth they do work very hard and we’re in they’re instilling in themselves life skills, life lessons that will take them very very far. So again thank you in advance for your continual support of these youth they are very appreciative of it I can tell you that for a fact. So with that have a great rest of your Friday a wonderful weekend we’ll check you back next week for another Farm Fact Friday take care.
