Now that he is settled in and his insurance license exam is out of the way, we’d like to introduce you to our newest teammate, Bela! He comes from a background in sales and the personal attention he provides customers aligns directly with the promises of our agency. We are excited to welcome Bela, Lindsay, Maggie, Annie and their little bundle of joy due in June to our Hitchings Insurance family!
Enjoy getting to know Bela a little better!
Tell us a little bit about your family.
My wife, Lindsay, and I reside on the east side of Findlay with our two daughters, Maggie (6) and Annie (3) and a TBD due June 20th! We also have two cocker spaniels, Gunner and Ralphie.
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
I love going west – and the first place that comes to mind is the Smith River in Montana. I love to fly fish, and that is by far the neatest area I have ever fished. Being originally from north west Michigan, summer time on a lake (preferably Lake Michigan or Mullet Lake in Cheboygan) will always hold a special place in my heart.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
Personally – I am in the start of a career change! After 12 very successful and fun years in the automobile industry, I decided it was time to try something else. Moving on was extremely difficult but coming to an organization like Hitchings has made that transition effortless. There is so much to learn and every day I am excited to come in to the office!
As a family, creating a new nursery for our upcoming addition is very fun! New paint, building some furniture, accent wall, replacing trim, etc. I really enjoy DIY type projects!
What are some small things that make your day better?
I love to be busy and feel like I am making a difference while at work. Right now, there is so much to learn as I start this new adventure, my day does not have much down time. I have always gotten great satisfaction over completing tasks, meeting new people, developing relationships, and closing a sale. At home, being a dad is by far the coolest thing that has ever happened to me – playing with my girls makes any day better!
Where is your favorite place(s) to eat?
My wife and I love to cook at home, and I prefer to grill. As a family we enjoy cooking over an open fire and being outdoors as much as possible. When we do venture out as a family, we like Kathy’s Corner, Chick-fil-A, and Mi Tequila! When Lindsay and I can get away for dinner, we enjoy Fin’s Seafood and Grill as our local go to!
What is one of your pet peeves?
When my children have stuff in their ears, and they cannot hear me…
If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
I would have to pick green. I am a huge fan of the color green. A lot of that is because I have, and always will, follow and cheer for the Michigan State Spartans – Go Green!
What is your favorite family tradition?
As a child, I loved going to Northern Michigan as a family for a week or two at the lake. Swimming, fishing, building forts, and being outside as much as possible. Lindsay and I are starting to develop our own little traditions as our family matures, and we can incorporate our kiddos as much as possible.
What quote/saying do you live by?
The Race at Sunrise – Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows if must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up, you had better be running.
“For every sale you miss because you are too enthusiastic, you will miss a hundred because you are not enthusiastic enough” – Zig Zigler
