We have all been inundated with information surrounding COVID-19 and the stay-at-home order. Announcements related to auto insurance premium relief have not been left out of this picture.
We wanted to give you an update on what our carriers have decided to date in regards to auto insurance premium relief. Keep in mind, these things could change at any given time so check back for updates.
Progressive Insurance (subject to approval by state regulators)
Progressive personal auto customers who have a policy in force as of April 30th will be credited 20% of their April premiums in May.
Personal auto customers with a policy in force as of May 31st will be credited 20% of their May premiums in June.
Ohio Mutual Insurance Group (subject to approval by state regulators)
25% credit for period of March 16, 2020 to May 31, 2020. 11 Weeks, or 2 ½ months.
The premium credit will be applied to the first invoice after June 1st on all personal auto policies in force on May 31, 2020.
Westfield Insurance (subject to approval by state regulators)
15% credit of their eligible monthly auto premium for the months of April, May, and June 2020. Customers with an active Personal Auto policy as of April 30, 2020, will receive the full credit to their bill in the month of May 2020.
Safeco Insurance (subject to approval by state regulators)
Personal auto insurance customers will receive a 15% refund on two months of their auto premium.
This is based on your premium amount as of April 7, 2020.
Encova Insurance/Motorists Insurance (subject to approval by state regulators)
15% policy credit for personal auto policyholders for the months of April and May who remain insured as of May 31, 2020.
