Kari and her husband, Eric, reside in rural Arcadia with their four children: Cora, Beau, Dirk and Lyza. The Colmans raise cattle, along with tending to crops.

Aside from their farm, Kari enjoys being outdoors, reading, running half marathons with friends throughout the country, coaching volleyball and basketball, and being in the company of family and friends.

Kari is involved throughout the community. She is active in Arcadia PTA, Arcadia Athletic Association, serves within the church, and helps with basketball for Arcadia youth.
